Vincent Dance Theatre

Lyceum Theatre

Unusual delight

Top coat and high heels started the evening of dance with the Vincent Dance Theatre. “Let the Mountains Lead you to Love” is the theme of the dance to come. It’s a scene of revisiting the teenage years and interpreting these into dance. The dance is energetic and the costume is just right to match the dancers’ musical interpretation. Direction is by Charlotte Vincent, who supplies the choreography. Music by John Avery.

Highlight of the evening is Patrycja Kujawska who dances while playing her violin. Not an easy thing to do, especially when the music coming from the instrument is concert standard. She moves about the stage and amazes the audience as the violin becomes part of her being. Great combination. Other dances centred round pregnancy, big shoes and a superb singing voice.

All very unusual and deserved the applause of the audience as they took their bows at the end. Worth visiting a theatre displaying a notice stating that the Vincent Dance Theatre are in town. © BA
