Cervical cancer affects women of all ages.
Early cancer of the cervix has no symptoms so regular smear screening is essential. Not longer than three years between smears.
Later signs and symptoms are:
Irregular bleeding.
Unusual vaginal discharge.
Pain, though this is unusual unless the cancer has spread inside the pelvis.
If you experience any of these signs and symptoms make a early appointment to see your doctor.
Treatment at an early stage is a minor operation, when the diseased part of the cervix is removed, this usually cures the problem. Leaving the treatment may require extensive surgery and radiotherapy.
Do not delay. Be safe not sorry.
